In Stride
T1D
Empowering individuals with Type 1 diabetes to put their control in stride with their daily rhythm.
At In Stride we believe diabetes shouldn’t hold you back. It should fit in seamlessly into our day to day lives. Thanks to rapid advancements in diabetes technology, achieving this balance is more possible than ever.We all have dreams and ambitions, but managing a chronic condition alongside them can feel frustrating. With the right foundational knowledge, an understanding of your personal thresholds, and the right tools, diabetes management can fade into the background and free up your time to focus on what really matters to you.For those of us who thrive on pushing limits, diabetes can also provide valuable insights. By tracking glucose trends and understanding how our bodies respond to effort, we gain an extra layer of awareness that can inform everything from fueling strategies to recovery. In cycling, for example, both Justin and Alex have reached a point where their diabetes stays under control during training and racing (...for the most part). Beyond that, they’ve learned to use their data to optimize performance and make informed decisions about pacing, nutrition, and overall energy management. We want to help others take control and harness their diabetes as a tool for success. If you'd like to talk about your management, or if you’d like to partner with us for an event or speaking engagement, we’d love to connect.

About Us
Justin and Alex are passionate athletes and advocates who live with Type 1 Diabetes and refuse to let it define their limits.Justin is a dominant force on the international gravel racing scene, with top finishes in the Elite Unbound 200 and multiple appearances at the UCI Gravel World Championships representing Team USA. His experience at the highest levels of endurance racing has shaped his perspective on performance, resilience, and the role diabetes plays in elite competition.Alex raced professionally at the pro-continental level, competing against some of the best cyclists in the world. He was also part of an eight-person Race Across America team that set a world record, completing the coast-to-coast race in 5 days, 9 hours, and 5 minutes. Now a father and software engineer, he continues to race at a high level while balancing life’s many demands. The two were introduced by a mutual friend and quickly realized a shared belief: diabetes advocacy needs a new approach. Too often, discussions around diabetes focus on rigid rules and prescriptive advice. Instead, they believe in empowering individuals with knowledge, allowing diabetes to seamlessly integrate into daily life, and even become an advantage in sport and beyond. In Stride T1D was born from this mindset: to push boundaries, foster innovation, and create meaningful change in the diabetes community. Join us as we redefine what it means to thrive with T1D.
